Late Night Munchies and the Little Things
OK I have to say this is why it is so important to have a schedule. I was exhausted all day and honestly I could have fallen asleep at like 5 p.m., but instead I had other things to do, things such as homework and watching Grey's Anatomy :). I made myself stay awake. After watching my show I went to Target with a friend of mine. We got home at about 11 p.m. I should have simply gone straight to bed, but then I remembered that Oprah had the Backstreet Boys on her show yesterday and I really needed to see the five of them all together again (You may think that this makes me lame, but I think it makes me awesome and I'm just trying to be very honest with you...lol). This is when it hit...about half way through Oprah I thought I was starving to death. I wanted to eat and not just eat, but eat junky junk food, like peanut butter.
This is when I had my ah-ha moment. I've got to start keeping a much more regulated schedule. Not just with planning cooking and working out, but also with sleeping. I set my alarm for 6 a.m. and went jogging then I came home and crashed for like two hours. I then left the house walked to campus had a sad little workout at the gym on campus (I say sad because I was on the elliptical machine and I thought that my legs were going to fall off because they were muscle burning so bad). I am much more out of shape than I even imagined. I was embarrassed by how quickly I was breathing so heavy.
So here is what I have decided and I know it's just a small thing, but sometimes as we all know it's the little things that count. I have decided that instead of taking the bus to campus that so graciously picks me up in front of my apartment complex I am going to walk. I've timed it. It takes approximately 20 minutes from the time the bus picks me up and my stop and drops me off on campus. If I walk to campus it takes...wait for it...approximately 20 minutes as well so really I'm wasting no time. Another little thing that I've decided to do is cut out elevators. I am just going to take the stairs. I know that this may sound minuet to some, but I work on the second floor of my building every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and My office is on the third floor which I go to everyday. I also have class on the third floor, so I will be walking up and down these stairs a lot and even though it may seem small, as I've said before I gotta start somewhere. Have any more little lifestyle changes? Let me know!
